A People's History of Hamilton County is a set of educational materials, both digital and print, documenting the social history of our community. Located in the six-million Adirondack Park, Hamilton County is the most rural place in the eastern United States. Its people include a year-round population of just under 5,000 residents, as well as a sizeable community of seasonal residents and tens of thousands of annual visitors. Whether Hamilton County is your home or your home-away-from-home, contribute your history to the People's History by contacting the Hamilton County Historian.

A People's History is a chance to tell your history, your way. Contributors are invited to co-curate exhibits in collaboration with the Hamilton Count Historian. No computer or design skills are necessary. The Historian will work with you to select, digitize, edit and arrange your contributions for upload to the People's History website, for print production, for public display, or all three. If you have a Hamilton County story to document, preserve and share, the Historian's Office has the resources to assist. Get in touch today!
